This recent project at Coccadotts Cake Shop in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. This shop had old, dark window film that had changed colors and was delaminating. The owners wanted to have the old film removed and replaced with a lighter window film that would offer great heat rejection. After consultation, we suggested a storefront window film by Madico called Sunscape Purelite 40. This film offers a neutral shade which maximizes the amount of natural light passing through the window while still filtering out unwanted heat and ultraviolet light. This advanced film is engineered to create a soothing, natural appearance that also reduces annoying glare, helps prevent fading of furnishings and blocks unwanted UV exposure.
Check out this photo taken from the inside looking out. You can see that it does not negatively impact the view by making it darker than it needs to be to get the desired heat and glare reduction.
This particular film offers 54% total solar energy rejection and 57% glare reduction. This film will not only help this shop remain more comfortable for the patrons and employees, it will also likely reduce the energy consumption needed to retain this level of comfort.
